STJS JAZZ SUNDAY
Pete Christlieb
(tenor sax) & Linda Small (trombone)
Noon-5:00pm at the Dante Club
2330 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95825

PETE CHRISTLIEB (tenor sax) worked for 20 years on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" band. He has performed with Sarah Vaughn, Carmen McCrae, Natalie Cole, and toured with Woody Herman, Louie Bellson, Pearl Bailey, Chet Baker, Count Basie, and many more. His sax solo on Steely Dan's 1977 classic tune, "Deacon Blues" is one of the best-known sax solos in pop music history. Pete and his wife, trombonist Linda Small, are co-leaders of the Tall and Small Band in Los Angeles, CA. Read the feature article about Pete Christlieb in the Jan. 2013 issue of Downbeat magazine.
LINDA SMALL's career spans the gamut from symphonic work to big band (from Boston Pops to TV's "Family Guy"). Pete and Linda have toured from Vegas to London, and Holland to Paris, and in 2012, Japan.
