Hostos Secures New York State Grants To Expand And Improve Its Allied Health And Media Programs
On July 25, 2014, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that Eugenio Mar�a de Hostos Community College of CUNY will receive two grants as part of his CUNY 2020 initiative-$2.2 million for "Allied Health Training for Employment" and a portion of the $4.6 million allocated for a new multi-campus media program.
Through this initiative, the Governor awarded eight grants totaling $55 million to CUNY colleges that demonstrated how their programs would connect academic excellence with economic development to create more jobs by the year 2020.

Distinguished Professor Isaac Goldemberg The "Times And Roots" Retrospective And A National Recognition
Distinguished Professor Isaac Goldemberg is enjoying the splash of attention and venerated respect he has worked hard to earn in the last 40 years as author, novelist, poet, essayist, and chronicler of his Jewish-Peruvian heritage and history.
The House of Peruvian Literature in Lima, Peru is presently exhibiting a retrospective in honor of his work titled, Isaac Goldemberg: Tiempos y Ra�ces through the end of September.

Hostos Celebrates Dedicated
Summer Students
Twenty-year-old Hostos Community College student Madlen Castro knows that by taking classes during the summer, she may have missed out on some fun. However, she also knows that you can't get where you want to go in life without working hard and making a few sacrifices along the way. So weighing her options, she decided to enroll in a pilot program designed specifically for goal-oriented students like her.
On July 22, Castro was rewarded for her industriousness when she was recognized along with 28 other participants in Hostos' "Summer Success 101: Student Financial Literacy and Retention Program."

Hostos "CLIP" Program Moving Into New Home
The CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP) at Hostos, is moving into a new building at 590 Exterior Street (East 150th Street between Exterior Street and River Avenue) by the Bronx Terminal Market/CLIP, a comprehensive English as a second language program, has been located in Hostos' East Academic Complex's C Building since its inception in Spring 1999. The new location is next to the Hostos Center for Workforce Development & Continuing Education, which opened in 2012.
