Greetings!
Happy October! We had a very busy September with our social media launch, and we hope you enjoyed it. We got quite a bit of feedback about our Meet the Team pictures, especially the one where I was "selling drugs" (AKA bottles of M&M's) in an alley. This month, we'll be focusing on prescription pain killers, which have become incredibly pervasive. From employees to children, these drugs keep popping up everywhere. Below, you'll find top notch information about the creation, distribution, and abuse of these drugs from across the country. As always, you can come to us for information about these and any other drugs at absolutely any time. From all of us at USA MDT Westchester, NY and Southern Fairfield, CT, we hope you have a wonderful October and enjoy the changing of the seasons! Best Wishes, Michael Gedigk President - USA MDT Westchester, NY and Fairfield, CT 914-250-1420 |

Pain Clinics: Rx for Social Disease
Last month, our social media outlets were filled with information about bath salts to celebrate our new relationship with Omega Laboratories. As you know, this is only one tiny facet in a larger world of drug abuse and addiction that affects the workplace. One of the most dangerous drug problems out there faces people of all ages, and the substances are easy to collect from medicine cabinets, friends, and even worse, pain clinics. Now, these places sell themselves as places to go when your pain becomes too great. People with long-term pain, like those with degenerative diseases or workplace injuries, are the ones that these clinics pretend they exist to support. There are some clinics around the country that really offer useful treatments for those with such conditions, but may others are faces on a multi-billion dollar industry per clinic.
The June issue of Bloomberg Businessweek featured a six-page article called, " American Pain: The Largest U.S. Pill Mill's Rise and Fall," that sparked controversy across the country. It is a fascinating read about how pain clinics work and just how much money they really rake in. You'll be surprised.

How We Help
Across this nation, business owners struggle to fight substance abuse in their workplace. It's an incredibly different battle to wage, especially with the pervasive nature of addiction.
Prescription drug abuse is an enormous problem in the U.S. Unfortunately, that is true for so many different types of drugs. Fortunately, we can help you safeguard your livelihood, reduce employee absenteeism, and keep your employees happy and healthy through drug testing.
USA Mobile Drug Testing specifically offers testing for these often abused prescription drugs in our 10 Panel Drug tests:
- Propoxyphene
- Benziodiazepines
- Opiates (Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and others)
- Amphetamines (Adderall)
- Barbiturates
- and more
