Dear Friends,

Thank you to the thousands of donors who have kept the IDF soldiers in their prayers and who have been long time supporters of Friends of the IDF.

In the last four weeks, we have felt the love and support for the soldiers from so many of you, through your generous donations and expressions of concern and care for the IDF soldiers.  FIDF staff in Israel have been visiting wounded soldiers who tell them the kindness and appreciation they receive from Am Israel and Jews around the world is what is keeping them going and fighting towards a speedy recovery.  The letters sent from all over the world warm the soldiers' hearts and make them feel that their mission is not only to protect their homeland, but the Jewish homeland. The homeland of all Jews no matter where they currently live.

While the military operation was in full effect, many organizations, synagogues and individuals organized fundraisers to contribute to the effort of FIDF.  A glimpse of this generosity is included below.

We want to hear from YOU! Please email us and share your pictures and stories with us. It's all for the soldiers! Am Israel Chai.

The Young Israel of Scarsdale under the leadership of Rabbi Jonathan Morgenstern organized a fundraiser for FIDF offering a matching gift by a very generous member of the congregation.  In the picture, Rabbi Morgenstern and his congregants are in front of the Iron Dome battery just a couple of days ago - as part of a special delegation to Israel showing solidarity.

Samantha Fischler, a former FIDF intern who recently graduated SAR High School, organized a 3 on 3 basketball tournament benefitting FIDF at Westchester Summer Day in Mamaroneck where she is a counselor. Since interning at FIDF, on her own, Samantha has been instrumental in spreading awareness in her community. Participants in the tournament were thrilled to raise money and have fun for such a special cause!

The Young Israel of New Rochelle under the leadership of Rabbi Reuven Fink organized Challa for Tzahal -  Challa bake sale where all proceeds went to FIDF. Hundreds of Challot were sold in support of the brave men and women of the IDF.

Supporters from Westchester and Connecticut joined FIDF staff at our NYC offices for a Phone-a-Thon. Their enthusiasm and spirit translated to many supporters over the phone as they helped to raise crucial funding for the soldiers of the IDF. Special thanks to these wonderful individuals for giving their support and their time.

Dani Loren, a ten year old boy from New Rochelle, raised money for FIDF by selling lemonade on hot summer days!  Hundred of neighbors and friends came to support this great cause and drink from Dani's lemonade stand.
