The MAK Center for Art and Architecture and ForYourArt presents DIALOGUES, an event in several modes that brings together artists and architects to share their experiences and ideas, and in doing so revives the vibrant salon spirit of the Schindler House in the 1920s. In this new work, General Douglas Gallegher receives a letter from a mysterious woman named Rowena Sinclair informing him his brother has died. Upon visiting her, he learns this is not true, as Rowena is in fact his brother. Gallegher must confront the truth of his buried past, deal with the reactions of his wife and two teenaged boys and come to terms with the responsibility of what he must now face with this very real and important human rights issue. He must somehow find acceptance in his heart, or lose everything he holds dear to his heart. Admission is $30.  For more information click here.

Professor Paul Apodaca, Chapman University and adjunct at UCLA's American Indian Studies program, will present a program in which he will screen and analyze portions of "In The Land of the Headhunters," a film by Edward S. Curtis, and share some of his insights into the film, its restoration, and the role of Curtis in the creation of images of American Indians in the popular imagination. For more info, click here.

Filmmakers and web series creators are invited to submit their work for inclusion in the California Men's Gatherings' Short Film Festival happening on June 15 & 16, 2013 as part of the One City One Pride LGBT Arts Festival. Submissions should be under 30 minutes, LGBT-themed, or have some connection to CMG and its mission, AIDS Walk or the ongoing AIDS crisis. Proceeds will benefit AIDS Walk LA.
