Real Bite Keeping it Real

Lizeth Cadena, owner of Real Bite, an eatery well hidden from pedestrians in the Quick Mart located on 311 W. Paisano Dr., is adding her own creative twist to the already evolving downtown landscape. Her eatery has to almost be "happened upon," with its unusual location.

Finding an eatery in a convenience store is not new but Real Bite bucks the norm by updating that concept. Menu items are evocative of familiar staples and fresh new choices.

After running a burrito focused restaurant called Real Burrito on Mesa for years and opting to close after a steady decline of business, Lizeth admits, "I lost my passion so I chose to stop and a loss of passion or love always reflects in the food."

Lizeth chose to use the transition period to operate a meal prepping and portion control business called Green Bite. "Green Bite grew too fast so I needed a commercial kitchen and that lead to this natural arrangement and the birth of Real Bite," she said.

The Ataris are four friends creating words and music in the basements and dive bars of the world, while young souls pile into the microphone and spill beer into our effects pedals. Honest stories and organic sounds, chock full of heart, sincerity and
beautiful mistakes. Played loud and recorded to analog tape.

Sixteen years of traveling the world, several broken down vans and five full length studio albums. The Ataris album "So Long, Astoria" included the tracks "In This Diary" and "The Saddest Song" and sold upwards of 850,000 copies earning the band it's first gold record.
