The Alexandria Small Business Development Center's Start, Manage, Grow workshop series continues and will feature Sheila Gaskins of the M&C Group, Inc. This workshop is designed for businesses interested in becoming a subcontractor to a prime contractor on a Government project.  The session will focus on the content and purpose of NDAs, T's and subcontractor agreements. The program is titled "Federal Subcontracting: Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements (TAs) and Subcontract Agreements: Limitations and Liabilities(Tues. 8/26 at 9:00 AM, AEDP/SBDC Offices, 625 N. Washington St., registration required).


 

The Signature Event weekend of Alexandria's War of 1812 Commemorationtakes place this weekend, with a number of free events. Throughout the weekend, cheer on Alexandrians as they take on the British as part of the official Alexandria War of 1812 Challenge!  Events of interest include a US Navy Band Concert on Market Square(Sat. 8/30 3:00 - 4:00 PM) an Honors Ceremony featuring the Continental Color Guard with Fife and Drum at the Alexandria National Cemetery (Sat. 8/30 4:30 - 5:00 PM, 1450 Wilkes St.) a Alexandria/Britain Yacht race along the Potomac River(Sun. 8/31 11:00 AM, Old Dominion Boat Club) and a full festival with music, games and demonstrationsat Waterfront Park (Sun. 8/31 noon - 5:00 PM, 1A Prince St). The AEDP Offices will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 1, 2014.
