Dear Parents,

As we approach the beginning of the new year, I would like to begin to share with you one of the exciting new ways that we will be communicating information to parents this year.  The Diocese of Columbus has purchased a diocesan-wide contract with SchoolSpeak.  All schools in the Diocese will be using this service for school databases, school directories, attendance, interim reports, end of the quarter progress reports and miscellaneous other business functions.

In the next week you will be receiving an email from SchoolSpeak with a login password and directions.  Each parent will be asked to update their contact and directory information and make a decision about having your contact information published in this year's online school directory (please note that this will be our ONLY directory - a print version will NOT be available). The directory will be secure and only be available to members of the St. Brigid online (password-protected) SchoolSpeak community.

Periodically you will be receiving more information about how to use SchoolSpeak, but for now look for an email in the next week with more instructions and information about updating your contact information.

14 days and counting until the first day of the new school year!   Look next week for the special "Back to School" edition of the Wolfhound Wednesday.

 Sincerely,

Kathleen O'Reilly

Principal

Middle School Youth Group Sign Up - Deadline Sunday

The registration deadline in order to receive a t-shirt is this Sunday, August 10 for Saint Brigid of Kildare's new Middle School Youth Group, designed for all 7th and 8th grade students in the parish and Saint Brigid of Kildare School.

The group will be led by Kim VanHuffel and will meet once a month on Sundays for faith, fun, fellowship, community building and service. Members will attend the12:15 p.m. Mass as a group then meet in Hendricks Halls for prayer and pizza, followed by a fun activity and group discussion. They'll end the day with a different service project each meeting, some being held in Hendricks Hall and some at off-site locations.

The program is designed to be a place for students with Catholic values to grow in faith and fellowship, and begin experiencing parish life in an active way. Students will gain a positive perspective on service by participating in new projects each month as a community and having a variety of service opportunities offered. These service opportunities will help them to meet their confirmation requirement of 25 hours (or more) with their friends in an organized environment. The program will also give middle school students the positive direction they need while providing a safe community to discuss challenges adolescents face today.
