Witness the Power of Creativity! According to Elders Share the Arts (ESTA), "when you put elders and youth in the same room, you have a surefire recipe for fun, laughter, and community building." We couldn't agree more. That recipe gets better with ESTA's June line-up of residencies. Learn more |
Request for Grandfamilies A reporter with a national publication is seeking grandfamilies - grandparents raising grandchildren or other older adults raising related children - to possibly interview for an upbeat story. If you know of any such family and could pass along their name and contact information to Generations United's Communications Specialist Alan King, so we can share them with the reporter, she would be very grateful. |

New Intergenerational Film Coming Soon In honor of intergenerational connections, filmmaker Claire Panke is wrapping up production on a positive aging film. Light Years, a look at creative aging and reinvention at any age, follows three characters. Meet Anita, 98, who's coached and directed actors, writers and musicians for years. Dee, a former professor, can be seen dancing in an African dance class in her 80s, inspiring younger class members. Then there's Paul, who's more than just a coach to the young men on a university's golf team. Through their stories, Panke shows the importance of intergenerational exchange. Learn more from the film trailer. |
