ARLENE ROMOFF - A Dynamic Speaker with an Uplifting Story

Everyone who is motivated to regard challenges as opportunities, to face down fears, and to turn adversity into advantage, will be guided - and inspired - by Arlene's story.

In her two books, Arlene Romoff tells of despair and of wonder. Born with normal hearing, Arlene began a gradual 25-year descent into deafness as a young adult. Left profoundly deaf, the miracle of cochlear implants brought a return to hearing.

Her keynote speeches move beyond the inspirational message of never giving up. While passionately pursuing solutions for her own hearing loss, Arlene devoted herself to advocating for the needs of the 14% of Americans with hearing loss, an invisible disability.  Her story is one of real activism - and one of overcoming obstacles at every turn.
Although she gives the technical side of cochlear implants in an easy to follow manner, the real story is one of courage and tenacity in making the most of life's challenges.

"If the world doesn't provide you with
what you need, then you change the world."
Arlene Romoff in "Listening Closely"

Interactive Dictionary (feature available early December):

An invaluable online resource that helps you to be prepared for any job. Pull up lists on a wide and growing variety of niche topics everyone should have in their dictionary including course studies, technical, medical, sports, names in the news, politicians, government, and many more. Upload and share your lists with your peers. Automatically removes words you've mastered. Builds a 'problem list' of words you have yet to master, which you can download as an MP3 audio for practicing anytime on the fly!

For example... If you are called to provide CART of a biology class, you can pull up the biology list, program into your dictionary and write/build muscle memory and test your knowledge of your steno strokes for each word. You will be confident that your biology terms will translate when writing realtime in front of an audience.

Ultimately, the Dictionary feature helps you reduce your 'untranslates' and increase your confidence and competency - which leads to more assignments, more money and a better lifestyle!
