Responsibilities include: (1) creation and implementation of a comprehensive children's ministry that includes Sunday School and worship as well as weekday afterschool and summer activities, (2) exploration of creative ministerial gifts through collaboration with a dynamic staff and volunteers as worship is reshaped, cultivating in a modern-day approach to worship and prayer and walking alongside each other in a grace-filled community, (3) participation in worship, preaching up to 9 times a year, and (4) use of social media, PowerPoint presentations, and visual media. Scholarship of the Week


William G. and Margaret B. Frasier Scholarship provides support for deserving students who are studying in the Baptist ministry, are residents of North Carolina, who demonstrate financial need, and are registered as full-time students. The application process requires an online process, including the application and additional materials (transcript, personal statement/essay). Award amounts vary each year. Call for Papers and Presentations
  

On April 20th the Wake Forest Hunger Board will hold a Food Justice Summit to promote awareness of and advocacy for food justice issues in Winston-Salem and the greater North Carolina area.

 

The Hunger Board is accepting proposals for presentations based on both research and outreach addressing hunger and food insecurity. Proposals are welcome from practitioners, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates from across all disciplines and areas of practice, especially those that demonstrate innovative ideas and methods of action.

 

Proposals are due by February 22nd and should be a maximum of 300 words. Contact Brittany Forniotis at [email protected] with questions and submissions.  Decisions will be made by March 6th and selected proposals will be notified shortly thereafter.

Conference on the Common Good

The Christian Unity Committee of the North Carolina Council of Churches is proud to announce this year's
Conference on the Common Good on the topic "Church-State Relations." Our keynote presenter for the discussion is Dr. Bill J. Leonard, Professor of Church History and the James and Marilyn Dunn Professor of Baptist Studies at the School of Divinity.

Important Information for Students:you will only need to pay the $5 registration fee if you plan on eating lunch. Otherwise, the keynote session and small groups carry no fee to attend.
