  STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE
  ACHIEVING IMPACT
Greetings!

Did you know that the first human testing of a candidate vaccine against HIV was carried out almost exactly 24 years ago?

On August 18th, 1987, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) implemented this historic test, which has spurred on countless others over the years. Although the search for an effective HIV vaccine continues to this day, there is hope on the horizon. This past December, a group of Canadian researchers received approval from the FDA to begin human clinical trials of a preventive HIV vaccine.
