SpotlightSABA-NC Spotlight:  Anand Parikh

 

Anand Parikh is an associate in the corporate practice of Morrison & Foerster. His practice focuses on emerging companies/venture capital, public company counseling and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, Anand was part of the team that assisted Intel in its $740M investment in Cloudera. He has also been involved in several IPOs and large acquisitions of public and private companies. Anand is also passionate about the rights of underrepresented minorities and is currently representing an LGBTQ individual in an asylum hearing.

Prior to his legal career, Anand was a Senate Fellow in the California State Senate working for State Senator Joe Simitian, with a policy portfolio focused on energy, transportation and housing. He was the legislative aide staffed on SB 33, the landmark legislation requiring investor-owned utilities, electric service providers, and community choice aggregators to increase procurement from eligible renewable energy resources to 33% of total procurement by 2020. He also founded and sold a successful tutoring and test preparation company while in college at the University of Michigan.

The South Asian Bar Association - Northern California chapter ("SABA-NC") was the first South Asian bar association in North America.  Founded in 1993, SABA-NC provides a voice to Bay Area South Asian lawyers and seeks to ensure they are provided an avenue to develop professionally, network among peers, and volunteer within the South Asian community. SABA-NC also seeks to protect the rights of South Asians in the Bay Area and to educate the public on issues facing the South Asian community.
