Leadership Tampa Bay News                                               Spring 2014 Edition
From the Desk of the ED

Spring is here, and as the "LTB year" approaches its end, I can't help but think that we had a bang-up year!

Despite being our biggest class to date, the 2014 class has had a blast bonding, learning and building lasting connections over the past seven months. May and June will not disappoint, with Sports Day, Tourism Day and the Closing Retreat.

This has also been a good year for LTB. We refreshed many of the program days, moved into new office space, revisited and redrafted organization bylaws, and have accepted the Children's Board of Hillsborough County's kind offer to host our monthly board meetings.

The biggest thing that I would like to say is a big thank you to our executive committee, our board of directors, past presidents and alumni who continue to be active parts of the LTB organization. We will soon be recruiting for the 2015 class, so if you know of any strong leaders who would benefit from the program, please help us spread the word.

Applications will be available through the website shortly.

You guys rock!

Alice

P.S. I hope to see all of you on June 12th for our annual meeting and graduation for the 2014 class. Stay tuned for details.

Call for 2015 Nominations

The application for the 2015 class will soon be available. Remember what a great experience you had in LTB? Start thinking about people within your company, connections you have made or even professionals new to the Tampa Bay Area who would benefit from the program. Send any great prospects you have in mind to recruitment chair, Aakash Patel at [email protected].

"Leadership Tampa Bay has been a great experience from not only understanding the different facets of our community from both the public and private sectors but also has given me insight into many areas of our region that were not previously available to me. In addition LTB has opened the door to many new relationships both personally and professionally."

--Dan Newhart ('14), Tampa Bay Rays

"I wasn't quite sure what to expect when joining Leadership Tampa Bay. After the opening retreat, it became clear that this experience was going to be a lot of fun, but also deeply rewarding. For one to experience the "behind-the-scenes" aspects of Tampa Bay's businesses, tourist attractions, community challenges and more, is simply priceless."

--Dan Madine ('13), Cintas

"As a fourth generation Tampa native, I've always known the great stories from my community; however I never would have learned about our surrounding 3 counties if I had not participated in LTB. Businesses and organizations are thinking regionally. Get out there and experience it!"

--Jenna Paladino ('12), Chapters Health
