Lights of Remembrance Celebration

Citizens Memorial Hospice is holding a special Lights of Remembrance service on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center at CMH in Bolivar. A special tree-lighting ceremony will be held in the lobby of the Cancer Center at 6 p.m. in addition to live music by the Bolivar High School Chorus Line and refreshments.

The purpose of Lights of Remembrance is to honor the life of a loved one, support the Hospice philosophy of living life fully, comfortably and dying with dignity and to involve the community in the support of Hospice care. Individuals can make donations of $10 to $250 per light in honor of family and friends, or in memory of loved ones.

The lights decorating the tree will be dedicated to those people who are being honored or memorialized. Giving to the Lights of Remembrance program will provide donations in our area to ensure that physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement care is given to all terminally ill patients and their families.

CMH Hospice caregivers strive to help patients remain as comfortable as possible at home, or in a homelike setting, with family and friends.  The program also provides support to the family after a death of their loved one through a bereavement program.
