Kevin & Nancy Bart
Dear Friends,
We want to thank you for your prayers for our son John, who has been ill for much of this year with fatigue, body pain, anxiety/depression, and other symptoms. He has had appointments with various doctors and specialists, many tests, MRI's,... to find out what is wrong. Over several months many things were ruled out, and they suspect it may be fibromyalgia, but no definitive diagnosis was made. He was recently given meds to treat the symptoms, and praise God that he is doing much better recently. Unfortunately now he owes $3600 that his insurance did not cover. Thank you so much for your prayers for John. More great news is that he recently got engaged to a Brazilian young woman living in Atlanta. God is good !

Please continue to pray for our visa. We had to pay alot of money and ask for a court order to stay legally in Brazil, because our visa expired on Sept. 10 without a decision by the government before the deadline. After almost 3 weeks we are still waiting to hear if the judge will grant us the court order. And after 6+ months we are still waiting to hear if we can extend our visa. And after 2+ years we are still waiting to hear if we can get dual citizenship. Such is life in Brazil. If we were not sure that God had called us to serve Him in His mission here, we would certainly leave and go back to the US, or some other country if God led us to. But we believe in our hearts that He wants us here. Please pray for us, because this is very costly and time consuming and frustrating, and it is difficult to go through this and at the same time continue doing God's work.

Where passion for God is weak, zeal for missions will be weak.

Preach at Igreja Batista Central in Santos
ibc

We have worked with Pr. Carlos and the church in a school in the past, and we will be helping them in an upcoming community outreach event in November. Pastor Carlos invited Kevin to preach at their Sunday night service. In Brazil the Sunday night service is the bigger service, not the morning service. Kevin preached on God's Call and Missions, and the Holy Spirit touched many hearts and the church responded well to the message. At the end of the service we shared the Gospel, and God touched and saved 9 people, including several members of the church.

Speak at EE Alberto Augusto school in Sao Vicente
eeaa

We originally had a different school in Santos scheduled. When we called to confirm our project we learned that since our meeting in March they changed all of the leaders of the school, and the new leaders did not accept the project. After that we called various schools to see if we could do our project that week, and we eventually found one. The Vice Director of the school was at a different school that we did our project at in the past, and so they accepted our project over the phone, which rarely happens. We spoke 3 days in the school, and we had a great week. We worked with Igreja Batista Cidade Nautica, but unfortunately only 1 person from the church came to help us on 2 of the days. The school leaders loved the project, as did the students and teachers, and they recommended us to 4 other schools. They also asked if we could continue to come and help, which we cannot do because of our busy schedule, but we did introduce them to the church. Hopefully the church will be able to do more things with the school to continue to help the new believers to grow, and help the students and their families. That is why in God's vision for our ministry and the project in the schools, the churches are a central part and thus we always try to work with a church that is located near the school. We praise God for the great things that He did, and for the more than 450 students and 10 teachers and the school coordinator that accepted Christ and committed their lives to Him.

Preach at Igreja Pentecostal Betesda in Guaruja

When we spoke in a school in Guaruja in August, we were invited to speak in the school coordinator's church. Kevin preached at the church in one of the Sunday night services in September. Although it was a Pentecostal church and it was a different experience, God's Spirit moved in the hearts of the church members and they enthusiastically accepted and responded to the message & challenge to do whatever it takes to join God in His mission of seeking and saving the lost. At the end of the service we shared the Gospel and we praise God for the 3 people that He touched and saved.

Speak at Pro Viver ministry for poor children in Santos
pv

We had the privilege to speak at this great ministry for poor children that was started by Primeira Igreja Batista Santos years ago. They have 4 locations in various parts of Santos, and we spoke in the Centro Santos location on a Monday morning and afternoon, and at their Marape Santos location on Tuesday morning and afternoon. The Marape group is located at Igreja Batista Marape. They have a group of children and adolescents they minister to in the morning, and then have a different group in the afternoon.

We shared the message that we use in the schools, about how to have a good quality of life and a good future, and God moved in a great way in many of the hearts. We praise God that more than 125 children and adolescents accepted Christ and committed their lives to Him in the 2 days. We serve a great and mighty God ! Please pray that God will continue to work in their hearts and lives, and that many of them will grow to be faithful disciples and followers of Jesus, and also fruitful servants and witnesses for Him.
