 Revitalizing Native Food Traditions 

REGISTRATION CLOSES, FRIDAY, AUGUST 31st at 12 PM.

This conference is an experiential learning gathering for tribal members and those who work in tribal communities.  It will include:

  • Community Models of Change

 -Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium showcasing "The Store Outside your Door" and Native Health Contemporary Chef Program

-Vancouver and Coastal Communities Indigenous Foods Network presenting "Feasting for Change" and Digital Harvest Projects

  • Interactive Workshops

-Tribal Community Gardens

-Growing Programs based on Community Need

-Restoring Native Root Gardens

-Traditional Technology Panel

-Plant Walks

-Medicine Making

-Mt. Huckleberry Ecosystems

-The Gifts of the East

  • Traditional Cooking Demos

-Salmon and Clams Over the Fire

-Cooking in a Pit Oven and in a Bentwood Box

-Recipe Sharing & Traditional Food Tasting

Come cultivate, learn, and share your knowledge at the Our Food is Our Medicine Gathering! 

 We will be having the recipe sharing and traditional foods tasting on Wednesday, September 5th. Bring any recipes or dishes you'd like to share.  Participants will not have access to the kitchen, but will have access to a small fridge. 

 

*We are now sold out of single rooms.  We will placing participants in double & triple rooms.*  Email Meghan McCormick for a list of hotels on Bainbridge Island if you prefer staying elsewhere.

 

We are currently accepting checks and credit cards for payment. Please call our campus cashier Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM to pay by credit card (360) 392-4302.
