This year's theme is "The American Dream."
The Power of the Purse Event is the cornerstone of the Women's Initiative of Volusia County. These remarkable women come together and pull resources across industry lines to put together an event filled with fun, fantastic food, and meaningful conversation to both raise awarness of and funds for local women and children in need. You will be sure to find one of a kind auction items, a dynamic keynote speaker, and an incredible network of friends.

Guest Speaker: Major General Polly Peyer
We are honored to have Maj. Gen. Polly A. Peyer as this year's guest speaker. She is a remarkable woman with an decorated military career and a true inspiration for all women.
During her time in the Air Force General Peyer commanded at squadron, group and wing levels. She has held major command and headquarters- level positions and was formerly the military assistant to the acting Secretary of the Air Force.
Since retirement in her home state of Florida, Major General Peyer has enjoyed volunteer work as a Guardian ad Litem by serving as an advocate in dependency court for abused or neglected children. She also enjoys her association with the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) at Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University.
