,

We are back, with our first our newsletter of the year! As many of you know, January was spent meeting clients for our year end reviews and as much as we would have liked, we just didn't have time to get out a newsletter.  So this month we promise to bring you our best.

First we have another local expert, Noel Bowman from World Gym.  Yes, it has been a difficult winter and we can get side tracked from our workouts.  So Noel brings some good ideas on how to stay active while at home with this months video.

Yes it has been cold, but Spring/Summer is just around the corner.....I Promise!  So get started early on all of those home projects you would like done by summertime.  We have info on two local companies that can help you conquer the small or largest of projects.

And of course we have articles to help on your financial life, as well a couple of interactive charts we thought you would enjoy

As always we appreciate your support and we look forward to continue to serve many of you in the future.

Monthly Video Blog

As promised, we want to offer videos that are not just about the financial world.  Even I know they can be a bit boring.

We all know how bitter this winter has been and unfortunately it can take us away from staying up on our exercises.  We have a video from Noel Bowman of World Gym who gives some tips on how stay active...while still indoors and yes even in front of the tv.

The Impact of Health-Care Costs on Social Security

For many retirees and their families, Social Security provides a dependable source of income. In fact, for the majority of retirees, Social Security accounts for at least half of their income (Source: Fast Facts & Figures About Social Security, 2013). However, more of that income is being spent on health-related costs each year, leaving less
available for other retirement expenses.

How much can I contribute to my IRA in 2014?

The amount you can contribute to your traditional or Roth IRA remains $5,500
for 2014, $6,500 if you're 50 or older. You can contribute to an IRA in addition to
an employer-sponsored retirement plan like a 401(k). But if you (or your spouse)
participate in an employer-sponsored plan, the amount of traditional IRA
contributions you can deduct may be reduced or eliminated (phased out),
depending on your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI). Your ability to make annual Roth contributions may also be phased out, depending on your MAGI.
