Legend High School hosts 'House Jacks' for music class
Most say that music is a universal language. For students of Legend High School's Choir, that dialect was delivered by world-renowned a cappella group Deke Sharon and the House Jacks on Friday, March 14 during an all-day master class. Read more

The goal of the recent 'Most Important Night in School Security' at Cimarron Middle School was to encourage parents to become more involved and informed when it comes to the security at their child's school. Cimarron's Parent-Teacher Organization brought together a panel of experts to talk and answer parent questions. Read more

The Colorado Supreme Court announced Monday that it will review an appellate court ruling that determined the Douglas County School District's Choice Scholarship Program is constitutional. When the Douglas County School District's Executive Chef Jason Morse wanted to create a new idea to keep students from leaving the cafeteria at lunch, he turned to the students for answers. Students helped come up with the key ingredients for a successful burrito program in the school cafeteria, as reported by 9News. Dave Posey and his wife Carly are working with the Douglas County School District in promoting awareness for school safety and security. The former Sandy Hook family now lives in Parker and recently spoke to DCSD parents and teachers about safety. Hear from the Posey family.

The Douglas County School District dominated the competition at the recent Technology Student Association (TSA) State Conference, leaving with dozens of awards and numerous students headed to the national competition. Read more

Safeguarding Children: Building ResiliencyDouglas County School District is teaming up with local law enforcement and other community partners to provide a series of regional forums on the safety of our students. In addition to providing parents with information about the physical safety measures we've taken, we'll be discussing the importance of psychological safety and what you can do to support your student's well-being.

In conjunction with the forums, there will also be a resource fair on April 23. Parents will be able to meet experts from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Douglas Arapahoe Mental Health, Children's Hospital, and many more community organizations.
