Save your plastic lids! In an effort to keep costs down, we are asking everyone to save their plastic lids (i.e. lids from coffee cans). The plastic lids will be used to help mark the tent spots. Just give your lids to the receptionist at any service center.

GSGLA is looking for donations from companies for some large quantity items. Click here to learn more about Camporee events, discount prices, and donation needs.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2012 GOLD AWARDEES!
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. The path to the Girl Scout Gold Award is a multi-year undertaking, where girls complete training and use their talents and learned leadership skills to create a Gold Award Take Action project. This large-scale project requires a minimum of 80 hours of planning and implementation and must have a lasting impact on its targeted community. On June 30, 2012, GSGLA celebrated 267 Girl Scout Gold Awardees! Click here to see a full listing of all of the awardees. Official event photos are not yet available, but you can view photos from the event on our facebook page!

GIVE $100 FOR THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY
Participate in the 2012 $100 for the 100th Family Partnership Campaign (FPC) and be entered to win Disneyland tickets! The FPC is the opportunity for Girl Scout families to invest in the future of girls through programs, camp improvements, volunteer support and other critical services. Each family that gives $100 or more will receive a collectible 100th pin and be entered to win four tickets to Disneyland. Click here to learn more.

LOCKS OF LOVE WEEK: AUGUST 6-12, 2012
Join thousands of Girl Scouts and K-EARTH for Locks of Love Week to donate hair for hair pieces for financially disadvantaged children with medical hair loss. This council-wide community project is a great opportunity for you, your troop, or your service unit to take part in a great cause – and get a FREE haircut just in time for back-to-school!

Hair donations (longest layer) should be 10 inches or longer. Colored or permed hair is acceptable, as long as it is not over bleached. Participate by going to your local Supercuts August 6-12, 2012. Be sure to look for the awesome poster, featuring our very own GSGLA Girl Scouts, and don’t forget to take your before and after photos to submit to GSGLA!

TOGETHERTHERE - HAVE YOU SIGNED THE PLEDGE?
A girl looks at the world around her; the country's leaders and captains of industry; at TV, movie, sports, and pop stars; at fashion magazines — what do her possibilities look like? Who are her role models? How can she be it, if she can't see it? It's time we made changes that support her path to success. Together, we can get her there. Go to www.ToGetHerThere.org for more information and to sign the pledge.

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

For participants under the age of 13, parental consent is required. Questions? Contact Miranda Sterling at msterling@girlscoutsla.org.
