Senator Wynona Lipman, the first African American woman in the NJ Senate, was a leader on policies affecting women, children and families. Congresswoman Donna Edwards (D-MD) certainly follows in her footsteps as a woman blazing her own path in the US House of Representatives. Edwards, the first African American woman to represent Maryland in Congress, will give this year's Senator Wynona Lipman Lecture in Women's Political Leadership on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:00 pm in the Douglass Campus Center.
