 Pathways in Ministry: Financial Realism

All are invited to a great opportunity to learn about how to tend to our financial lives in ministry. Susan Foster of Clergy Tax Professionals will lead us in presentation and conversation. Susan has 28 years of experience in preparing clergy tax returns, setting up designations, accountable reimbursement funds, and other related tax issues. She is also a musician and the organist for Home Moravian Church. Snacks will be provided. RSVP to Nic Williams by Monday, March 24.
Lenten Preaching Series

This year's Seventh Annual Lenten Preaching Series is held in partnership with First Baptist Church on Highland of Winston-Salem. Themed God's New Community, each service - held Fridays during Lent - will include a brief sermon and communion will be observed. Following the service, lunch will be served. This week's service will be led by Dr. Veronice Miles, Associate Teaching Professor of Preaching and Religious Education at Wake Forest University School of Divinity. She will preach on No Enemies in God's Community (Luke 6:27-36).
A Note about Community Lunch
Community Lunch is served on Tuesdays and Thursdays following chapel services.
Reminder: During the Thursday community lunch, each participant is asked to provide a contribution of $5 to support our efforts to offer a meal twice per week. Cash or checks are acceptable. Checks should be made payable to Wake Forest University School of Divinity.
2014 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Festival of Young Preachers Thursday, June 26 - Friday, June 27, Atlanta, Georgia Preaching matters and the worship of God requires our very best. To this end the CBF, in partnership with the Academy of Preachers, seeks to inspire, network, and encourage young people toward excellence in their call to gospel preaching. 16 preaching slots will be available with open registration beginning April 4. Contact [email protected] for more information and to register. There is a registration fee of $100. Open to all 14-28 year olds with a CBF sponsor.
Call for Submissions
Elizabeth Phillips Award for Best Essay in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
In its eight year, the Elizabeth Phillips Award pays tribute to the Professor Emertia of English and her exceptional scholarly commitment to the advancement of women's, gender, and sexuality studies. Submissions are now being accepted: essays must be no more than 25 pages in length, written for a class taught by Wake Forest University during the 2013-2014 academic year, and should demonstrate exceptional scholarly commitment to women's, gender, and sexuality studies. To submit a paper, have the faculty member who taught the class the paper was written for to submit an email to [email protected] indicating the work met the requirements of a particular class or assignment. Then, submit the essay to Pat Gardea (email above) and ensure you include your name, year of graduation, graduate program, and contact information (mailing address, cell phone, and email).
