Greetings!
omh more snow...
Here's another snow thought from the Kaballah:
Water is a symbol of blessing and life; divine energy flowing downwards from Above.
This flow takes on two forms - water in its pure form, and snow - water (vapor) as it combines with dust and particles.
Water represents 'Heaven' from where it flows. Snow represents a combination of both heaven and earth - divine and worldliness.
We are empowered to find G-d, and build a relationship with Him, in two ways. We can find Him in our spiritual, Jewish activities (e.g. Torah study, prayer, Shabbat etc). We are also able to find Him in our daily, mundane activities - when we see the hand of Providence in ordinary areas of life such as business and health.
"Rain" symbolizes the former - pure 'Heavenly waters'. "Snow" is the latter - when Heaven's waters combine with earth, connecting our day to day reality with our Creator and His purpose.
Perhaps that's what G-d is trying to tell us this Winter. "It's not enough to look for Me in shul and in holy endeavors. I'm very much a part of your daily life. Make sure to live it in a manner that's makes Me proud, and don't forget where your real life blessings are coming from."
Stay safe and warm. Join me Shabbat at shul - (please...)
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel

By: Yerachmiel Tilles
Question:
Maintaining the Cosmic Balance. In order for the festivals to retain their position relative to the seasons, an adjustment must be made. What is it?

Timeline
1951: We are the last generation of the exile and the first of a new age.
1967: A mighty wind of return is blowing. I hear the sound of a great ram's horn. The souls of the young people are preparing for a time to come.
1990: The timeline of mankind, according to tradition, is divided into six millennia, corresponding to the six days of Creation. The seventh millennium is beyond time.
According to this paradigm, the year 5751 (October 1990–September 1991) equates with high noon on the sixth day.
The year 5751 begins an entirely new era. Just as on Friday afternoon we begin the mad rush to prepare for the seventh day, so too, all the wonders you will see in this year are nature's frenzy to prepare for a time beyond time. We are about to enter what the ancient sages referred to as the Era of Moshiach.

Parshat Ki Tisa
The people of Israel are told to each contribute exactly half a shekel of silver to the Sanctuary. Instructions are also given regarding the making of the Sanctuary's water basin, anointing oil and incense. "Wise-hearted" artisans Betzalel and Aholiav are placed in charge of the Sanctuary's construction, and the people are once again commanded to keep the Shabbat.
When Moses does not return when expected from Mount Sinai, the people make a golden calf and worship it. G-d proposes to destroy the errant nation, but Moses intercedes on their behalf. Moses descends from the mountain carrying the tablets of the testimony engraved with the Ten Commandments; seeing the people dancing about their idol, he breaks the tablets, destroys the golden calf, and has the primary culprits put to death. He then returns to G-d to say: "If You do not forgive them, blot me out from the book that You have written."
G-d forgives, but says that the effect of their sin will be felt for many generations. At first G-d proposes to send His angel along with them, but Moses insists that G-d Himself accompany His people to the promised land.
Moses prepares a new set of tablets and once more ascends the mountain, where G-d reinscribes the covenant on these second tablets. On the mountain, Moses is also granted a vision of the divine thirteen attributes of mercy. So radiant is Moses' face upon his return, that he must cover it with a veil, which he removes only to speak with G-d and to teach His laws to the people.
