Choose Your Own Subject Class
Four Week Studio Class, Tuesdays 7:00-9:30pm
August 14, 21, 28, September 4
Location: Picard Studio
Cost: $200
Held at Alain's studio in Southbury, this class gives you the unique opportunity to bring your own photographic references, and work on the subject that most inspires you. Personalized instruction at the easel will be provided to each student as they develop their paintings.
All levels, beginner to advanced, are welcome.
This class is limited to six students.

Painting the Portrait in Pastel
One-Day Portrait Workshop, Saturday 9:30am - 4:30pm
October 27, 2012
Location: Rorick Studio, Southbury
Cost: $125
Working from the live model, Alain will demonstrate a painterly approach to pastel. Students will then work from the model with individual instruction at their easels throughout the afternoon.This workshop will promote a simple approach to portrait painting using the principles of shape, value, edge, color, and composition. Painterly Still Life Class
Four Week Studio Class, Tuesdays 7:00pm - 9:30pm
October 16, 23, 30, November 6
Location: Picard Studio
Cost: $200
Still life provides the artist with an ideal learning environment for the study of shapes, values, and edges. Working from direct observation of the still life, students will learn to see and record the primary light and shadow pattern falling upon the scene. Special emphasis given to the simplification of values and manipulation of lost and found edges, with further instruction on interpreting color and composing the painting.
Personalized instruction at the easel will be provided to each student as they develop their paintings.
All levels, beginner to advanced, are welcome.

Painting the Still Life in Pastel
One-Day Still Life Workshop, Saturday 9:30am - 4:30pm
November 17, 2012
Location: Picard Studio
Cost: $110
The goal of this workshop is to setup, compose, and paint a still life in pastel in just one day. Alain will demonstrate a painterly approach to pastel. Students will then develop their own paintings from direct observation with individual instruction at their easels. This workshop will focus on composing the painting, massing shapes, simplifying value, and dealing with edges.
All levels, beginner to advanced, are welcome.

The Holiday Workshop
Tuesday 7:00-10:00pm

Location: Picard Studio
Cost: $50

Once payment is received, an email will be sent to you confirming your registration along with a supply list and directions to your workshop/class.
Cancellations are non-refundable within two weeks of start date.
