Worship this week - January 12th
|
Dr. McIvor's sermon is "We Are Baptized to Serve" based on Matthew 3.13-17. When Jesus asked to be baptized, John the Baptizer said, "You should baptize me, not the other way around!" But Jesus persisted and when he came up from the water the Tri-Unity was revealed: The Father speaks, the Spirit descends, and the Son is present with us. This is why our baptisms are calls to serve.

| Connect the Face with the Name |
 Do you sometimes have difficulty connecting a face with a name at PCIS? It's probably happened to all of us. The Shepherding Committee would like to make it easier for new members to make this connection.Jim Fraser has graciously volunteered to take member photographs at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 2nd. Printed copies will be available at the church or by email request. If you are unavailable on the 2nd or would like to submit your own photo, please email the image to [email protected]. You may also drop off a printed photo at the office (we will return it to you after scanning.) We would appreciate individual and/or family photos and high quality JPEGs are preferable. Annual Meeting and Potluck Luncheon
Bring a dish to share! Join us for a potluck luncheon February 2nd before the Annual Meeting. Feel free to bring any of the following: entree, salad, dessert, or drink. Estimate of Giving Cards
Have you returned your Estimate of Giving card for 2014? If not, please do so at your earliest convenience. They may be mailed to the church or placed in the Sunday morning offering plates. If you need a new card sent to you, please contact the church office.

Compassionate Knitting
Discover the joy of knitting for others. Beginning January 14th, all junior high and high school students (and their friends) are invited to participate in this new youth ministry project as well as knitters of all ages. Beginners are welcome - we'll provide yarn, needles, and instructions! The group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. For questions and to RSVP, contact Rose DeBoer. Learn more.
