Worship this week - January 5th
|
Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Grace Upon Grace" based on John 1.10-18. It's interesting to compare how the four Gospels tell the "Christmas story." Mark doesn't tell it at all and there is no mention of Jesus' birth. Luke's Gospel focuses on Mary, angels, and shepherds. Matthew's Gospel focuses on Joseph and the visit of the magi. And John's Gospel? John focuses on flesh - God in the flesh. This means we can see God in Jesus and the result is grace piled upon grace.
