Perfect way to begin the summer by making powerful connections in the entertainment industry and meet face-to-face with the members of the NEW Los Angeles Filmmakers Network (LAFN)

paulLAFN Co-founders Paul Salamoff (Writer/Producer/Executive) and Marla Dennis (Personal branding and social media savvy expert/speaker/coach) bring together The Hollywood Film School (our hosts) and industry leaders Pen Densham, Oscar-nominated writer, producer, director and co-founder of Trilogy Entertainment Group and actor Andre Royo, who portrayed series regular "Bubbles” on HBO's critically acclaimed “The Wire,” for an evening of education, inspiration and transforming lives through the art of new headshot 2012 2filmmaking on Thursday, June 14, 2012. LAFN is designed to be a forum online and offline to help aspiring filmmakers realize their goals of obtaining a position on a film set through interaction with working professionals.

If you are new to the film industry or unsure of what job you'd like on a film, this group is ideal for you because not only will we educate you on the various jobs available, but you will gain practical and pragmatic advice from seasoned veterans of the industry.

andreANDRE ROYO
For five seasons, Andre Royo portrayed series regular "Bubbles” on HBO's critically acclaimed “The Wire”. Currently he appears as the recurring character “Henry Arliss Higgins” on the hit Fox show “Fringe”. His other television credits include such diverse shows as “How to Make it in America”, “Memphis Beat”, “The Whole Truth”, “Party Down”, “Numb3rs”, “Criminal Minds” and “Heroes”.  

From small to big screen, Royo first appeared in John Singleton’s SHAFT. More recently, he appeared in the independent features REMNANTS, THE COLLECTION, THE MIRACLE OF SPANISH HARLEM and SUPER. He has been recently seen in HELLBENDERS and George Lucas’s RED TAILS. Currently, Royo is executive producing the independent feature film WOULD YOU RATHER.

penPEN DENSHAM

Pen Densham is the Oscar-nominated co-founder of Trilogy Entertainment Group. Pen writes, produces and directs both TV and features and is responsible for reviving “The

"Outer Limits” and “The Twilight Zone” for television, feature films like Robin Hood:

Prince of Thieves, Moll Flanders starring Robin Wright and Morgan Freeman, Houdini and producing the upcoming Ed Harris/David Duchovny submarine thriller, Phantom.

Pen also teaches occasionally at USC Film School where he was inspired to write his book on screenwriting, Riding the Alligator, a non-dogmatic, from-the-heart guide to creating and selling from one’s own personal voice.
