Conference co-hosts

We are now soliciting abstracts for poster

or oral presentations at the

Large Wildland Fires: Social, Political and  Ecological Effects Conference

Missoula, Montana

May 19-23,2014

All abstracts should be submitted via the Online Submission System.

The deadline for submitting an abstract is 31 January 2014.

All abstracts will be reviewed and notification of acceptance made by 28 February 2014.

Due to a limited number of concurrent sessions, we will probably not accept all oral presentations. If your oral presentation is rejected, we will ask if you wish to submit as a poster.

Contributed oral and poster papers may cover, but are not limited to, the following topics. Proposals that make creative use of the conference theme are especially welcome:

Topics:

  • Large Fires
  • Fire Management
  • Climate Change
  • Fire Ecology
  • Wildland Fuels
  • Smoke
  • Fire Behavior
  • Social Issues
  • Political Realities

We will attempt to put your presentation with other presentations of a similar topic or in a related open special session, but we reserve the right to put your presentation wherever there is an open time slot.

We will be judging student presentations and posters and there will be awards for best in each category. If you are a student and wish to be part of this competition, please check the "Student Presenter" box at the abstract submission page.

Agreement: All attending authors and presenters must register for this conference when their abstracts have been accepted. The Conference Committee, by accepting an abstract, is not responsible to pay any expenses (travel, lodging or per diem) associated with presenting an individual or joint authored presentation. Authors and presenters agree to present their submissions on the time and date identified by the organizing committee. These stipulations pertain to The Large Wildland Fires: Social, Political and Ecological Effects Conference, which will be held at The University of Montana, Missoula, Montana, USA during the period 19-22, May 2014.
