Happy New Year to all!
The arrival of the New Year often means the beginning of a busy time getting all of our new projects started... but also a time of reflection and appreciation. I am particularly grateful to my clients for the support they have shown me and I look forward to helping you with all your future real estate needs.
January is also the time that we become busiest here - our beautiful sunny skies and warm, tropical temperatures bring all our friends from up north flocking to us for family visits.
If you decide to come in January (ok, here we go....) maybe you'll be here for Rubber Ducky Day (1/13), National Popcorn Day (1/19), National Buttercrunch Day (1/20) or the best yet ....Bubble Bath Day (1/8).
Be safe and stay warm!

Punta Gorda makes cover of Where to Retire magazine
Last month, "Where to Retire" Magazine named Punta Gorda one of the best areas to retire in the country!
The publication takes into account several qualities that retirees look for in a new city. Punta Gorda's 18-mile bike path, waterfront properties and parks were just a few of the traits that ranked high on the list. Other features were free parking and boat launching, as well as the City's free loaner bike program.

Squeeze in More Kitchen Storage
Corner Storage - Unleashed!
"Corner cabinets are notorious for storing kitchen items - forever! With its deep further recesses, a corner cabinet is the Bermuda Triangle of your kitchen. Fortunately, clever kitchen cabinet manufacturers are finding ways to shed light on this Neverland. This cabinet is a combination door and drawer - swinging open the door brings with it all the contents of your corner cabinet."

Raise Your Expectations
"With an eye to all that unused space above her upper cabinets, this savvy home owner moved her uppers to the ceiling and added an easy-to-reach open shelf. The additional space is perfect for canisters, spice jars, and books. Finishing the cabinets with crown moulding and a fresh coat of white paint is a great budget-minded kitchen facelift."

The Store-More Floor
Interior walls, floors, and ceilings are mostly hollow. Although pipes, wires, and ducts run between framing members, some of these spaces are free and clear, and can be converted to shelving and storage, like this modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese idea. Here, an under-the-floor solution provides storage for lesser-used kitchen items, such as seasonal tablecloths and extra dishes.

Think Outside the Clothes Closet Who says you have to use closets to hang clothes or stash brooms? With a little carpentry work, this former broom closet was converted to a handy pantry. Pull-out shelves bring everything into view - no fumbling around the back of shelves for that last jar of pickled beans.
