Worship this week - December 22nd

Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Jesus Saves" based on Matthew 1.18-25. In a dream an angel told Joseph to not be afraid to marry Mary even though she was already pregnant. The angel also told Joseph that when the child was born he should be named Jesus. Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua which means "the Lord saves." The angel's point seems rather clear. Jesus was born to save. What does that mean for us today?

The Christmas Eve Worship Schedule is listed on our website.

Expressing Thanks
It is the time of year where we would like to thank our nursery caregivers, Joan Wernick and Donna Fleishman for all that they do for our young children. We will be collecting donations through the end of December to purchase them a gift or gift certificate. Learn more details and how to contribute here.
FOCUS & Families Ski Weekend

Plan now to get-away from it all during President's Day weekend, February 14th-17th, at Camp Sentinel in Ossipee, NH and enjoy skiing, ice skating or just relaxing. Let Aline Rober know if you're interested by December 20th - spaces do fill up! Learn more.

Attention Parents!
It's time to prepare for the Christmas Pageant
The education team would like to remind all parents of elementary age children that the Christmas pageant will be during the 5:00pm service on Christmas Eve. Any children who want to participate (we need sheep, angles, and wise men!) should attend a "dress rehearsal" on Sunday December 22nd from 5:00-6:00pm.
youth party Youth Group Christmas Party
December 22nd, 6:00-8:00pm

We will celebrate Christmas together starting at 6:00pm (right after the Christmas Pageant rehearsal.) We invite all our high school & middle school students to come out and bring their friends!

We'll begin with dinner together (no contribution requested...food's on us!), inside or outside games (hopefully outside), Yankee Swap & more! Dress warm in case we're outside and bring a wrapped gift for the Yankee Swap (the gift should be something cool/interesting from around the house, no need to spend money. If you do spend money, keep it at $10 or less). Contact Matt Crane if you have any questions.

Compassionate Knitting
Discover the joy of knitting for others. Beginning January 14th, all junior high and high school students (and their friends) are invited to participate in this new youth ministry project as well as knitters of all ages. Beginners are welcome - we'll provide yarn, needles, and instructions! (Just let Rose DeBoer know so she can plan accordingly.) Or just join us if you are working on your own project. The group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. For questions and to RSVP, contact Rose DeBoer. Flyers with more details are available in Fellowship Hall or online here.
