Remembering Nelson Mandela

"It always seems impossible until it's done" - Nelson Mandela

Today we at Cordoba mourn the loss of Nelson Mandela - a brave and inspirational champion of human rights and equality.

Nelson Mandela appreciated knowledge and education. He cherished freedom and the ability of an individual to contribute to the whole of society. He always said that a good head and a good heart is always a formidable combination. And, he often measured a society by the way it treats its children.

Madiba, his clan name and a moniker revered by many South Africans, was a man blessed with a good head and a good heart. He was a leader, who sacrificed along with those he led. Madiba was a man of integrity, a man of dedication, a man of devotion to a mission, and he was a man who used truth to prevail against the horrors of denial.

His body has now ceased to support his soul but his soul will never die. It will remain a legacy, an inspiration and an example of humanity to millions who live today and millions more who will live centuries from now.

Men, women, and children of all faiths, nationalities, and cultures fortunate enough to be alive while Nelson Mandela was will miss this wonderful human being. It is our hope that generations after generations will learn from him and will know the honor synonymous with his saga.
