Well it's our last newsletter of the year, where has the year gone. As we look at 2013 obviously the markets have behaved very well for us. So what will 2014 bring, well of course compliance won't let me discuss here, but....We'll be discussing that with our clients at our year end reviews. For our local clients we included some info on flood insurance and the impact on this area. Of course this came to the forefront last year after hurricane Sandy. Thanks to Jeff Baxter for Prosperity Mortgage for supplying this valuable info.

National Flood Insurance Update

There had been some hope that Congress would address a delay in NFIP flood insurance rate hikes through legislation this Fall, but it now appears that this effort has run into roadblocks on both sides of the aisle. It looks like most legislatures are falling back on the belief that continued subsidies at this level place an unfair burden on taxpayers by continuing to "bail out" the flood insurance program.
