| Sept 2010 Meeting - Project Updates and Presentations |
Green Needham's September, 2010 meeting took place at the Needham Public Library's Community room on Monday evening, September 20th.
Following an update on sustainability initiatives in Needham - "Needham 1,000", Green Communities and Wind & Solar power feasibility studies - the meeting featured a presentation on solar energy options available to homeowners by Needham resident Chris Robinson of Sunlight Solar Energy, followed by a Q&A session.

| First Parish receives EPA national Energy Star Congregations Award |
Needham's First Parish Unitarian Universalist has been named one of nine national winners of an EPA 2010 Energy Star Small Business and Congregations Award. This is just the latest, but arguably the most prestigious, recognition First Parish has received for the energy savings it achieved while undertaking a major renovation and expansion of its facilities.

| Earth25 Walking Incentive Program Kicked-Off |
Broadmeadow, Hillside and Newman elementary schools are all participating in the pilot of the new website, Earth25.com, which was developed by two Needham mothers as a way to motive kids to walk or bike instead of riding in a carbon producing car.
