FEATURED ITEM

Home for Aged Colored Women Records

From 1860 to 1944, the Home for Aged Colored Women provided support to older Black women in Boston. Some women lived in a group home run by the organization and others received monetary assistance to live independently or with family members.

The Home for Aged Colored Women Records notably include the names and personal histories of those who were admitted to the organization's care. Many of these records are accessible digitally through the MHS collection guide.
