December 2024

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

--Matthew 1:21

Dear Concordia alumni,

Christmas is just around the corner. Our hope and prayer is that you take time to remember all the blessings in your life and spend some time with family and friends. Too often we focus on the material things and what is happening in our community and world. We are grateful for you all year round, but during this Christmas season, it’s a special time for us to say THANK YOU for your support and prayers!

This newsletter includes all the information you will need until we ring in 2025. Wishing you a blessed Christmas.

Update from Mike Duffy, Interim Campus Executive

As the year winds down, we are looking forward to the Boar's Head Festival. This will be my first-ever viewing of the Concordia favorite and I can't wait to see it! Exams are next week and our students are hunkering down in preparation. Do you remember those days?

And, of course, we are looking forward to winter commencement on December 15. Such a highlight in a college student's career.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very blessed Christmas!

Doc Foelber: A CUAA pioneer called to rest

Rev. Dr. Paul “Doc” Foelber was recently called to his heavenly home. The Foelber family has been busy planning for Doc's memorial service, which will take place in the early part of 2025. Richard, Doc's son, is hoping some of our alumni may have recordings (CDs) of the choir when Doc was directing. If you do, and you are willing to share a copy with the Foelber family, please let us know and we will give you the appropriate address. On behalf of the family, thank you.

Final Thought from Campus Pastor Randy Duncan

"Stop playing God. It is not your job to fix people. It is your job to love them, and point them to Jesus."
