Compassion Week Volunteer Slots Still Available

Over 3,000 community members have registered for volunteer projects in this year's Compassion Week (Sept. 21-29). There are still 700 volunteer slots available for projects focusing on concerns such as hunger, homelessness, education, veterans, the environment, etc. Volunteer sign-ups encouraged.

Agenda Available for Upcoming City Council Meeting

The agenda lists all the items to be discussed during the Tuesday, September 24 meeting. Prior to the meeting, the City Council has Commission interviews at 2 PM and a scheduled closed session at 6:15 PM.

Feedback Requested: District-Based Elections Draft Maps

The updated draft maps are available for public review; they will be formally introduced to the City Council during the next public hearing on Tuesday, September 24, at 7 PM in the Council Chambers. Residents are invited to attend and provide feedback on which map best represents Los Altos.

Blood Drive Happening in Los Altos This Week

The city of Los Altos is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, September 25, from 10 AM-3 PM in the Los Altos Community Center. Time slots can be found online. Before donation, donors should avoid alcohol and fatty foods for 24 hours and aspirin (if donating platelets) for 48 hours.

Joint Community Volunteer Service Award Nominations Open

The city of Los Altos and the town of Los Altos Hills are accepting nominations for the 41st annual Joint Community Volunteer Service Awards. These awards recognize community members who provide extraordinary service to the community. Nominations close Friday, October 11.
