Congratulations to Dr. Adam Wyatt, in collaboration with Drs. Michael Rapoport and Clarissa Chenovick in the FAU College of Arts and Letters, they have been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The grant, “Health and Illness in South Florida: Implementing a Health Humanities Minor” (AKA-298431), is part of the Humanities Connections grant program.
The three-year award will focus on implementing a newly approved Health Humanities minor which aspires to serve as a bridge connecting the teaching of health and medicine, typically rooted in scientific and biomedical disciplines, with the methods and aims of the humanities and humanistic social sciences.

Eighth grade Biomedical Sciences Choice Program/HCOP students from Lake Worth Middle School and Roosevelt Community Middle School visited the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health. Led by Sara Green, Wellness Consultant and Rebecca Kastin, Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, the activity introduced the "NutriLearn" program. This initiative teaches students the importance of nutrition and how to adapt meals for better family health. Students learned to create healthy, affordable snacks without specialized kitchen equipment and received handouts with recipes to share at home. | |
