Eack wins 2024 Connie Lieber Science to Practice Award

Professor and Browne Chair Shaun Eack has won the 2024 Connie Lieber Science to Practice Award from the Cognitive Remediation in Psychiatry conference. It is given by Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In 2013, Connie Lieber and Alice Medalia started the Science to Practice Award "to honor a person who is bridging the gap between cognitive remediation research and practice. Honorees are chosen because they are involved in improving both research and clinical practice of cognitive remediation.” Eack will receive his award, and is a plenary speaker, at the annual Cognitive Remediation in Psychiatry conference, to be held in New York City on June 7, 2024.

CRSP Journal Announcement: Special Issue on Race-Involved Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Programs

Race and Social Problems (RASP) is the official journal of the Center on Race and Social Problems. RASP is currently considering a special issue on DEI programs. The issue would compose articles dealing with the description of the elements of programs and the evaluation of the efficacy of DEI interventions.

Consistent with our mission for regular issues, some of the articles would be quantitative (descriptive and relationship testing, including meta analysis) or mixed methodology, but the full issue would present a range of scholarship, including qualitative empirical papers, historical analyses, and policy-directed papers.

This announcement calls for inquiries about the intended issue and abstracts or short descriptions of possible submissions. Also, we would like to solicit volunteers to serve as Guest Editor of the issue.

Those interested in serving as Guest Editor should include a short description of relevant scholarship or a vita.

If you are interested or would like to learn more, please send an email directly to the current Editor and Chief of the Journal on Race and Social Problems, Gary Koeske at: gkoeske@pitt.edu
