February 1, 2024 - Issue 24

Good evening!

Happy first day of February! The months are certainly flying by, so I want to make sure you are aware of all of the amazing opportunities for future planning located in the Counseling section of this email. Students can explore career options, ACT Prep courses, summer jobs, scholarships, and more. Please take time to review and reach out with questions, to Counselors Mrs. Christine Brooks and Ms. Katie Gauntner, and Career Coach Mrs. Judy Mey. They look forward to pointing you in the right direction.

Please remember that Parent-Teacher Conferences are next Wednesday, February 7 from 3:30 - 6 pm, so please click the link below to schedule your appointment by Monday, February 5.

Wishing you all a Happy Groundhog Day! What do you think Punxsutawney Phil will do tomorrow? Whatever he does, I hope he watches out for that first step, it's a doozie!*

Enjoy the rest of the week and keep the ripple going, Panthers!

ATTENTION PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Diversity Club is looking for anyone interested in coming to EC one day after school to make a short presentation to students where you share about your culture or heritage.

  • For February, we are looking for anyone who might want to present on African American, African, or any Afrocentric or Afrodescendent culture.
  • For March, we are looking for anyone who might want to present on Irish, Scottish or Welsh culture.
  • For May, we are looking for presenters of Pacific Islander and Asian cultures.

The presentations can range from 10-30 minutes and we ask that you present on your favorite aspects of your culture so that students can get a taste for it. If you have a special dish that reflects your culture and you would like to make it for students to sample, that would be lovely! (certainly not required). If you or someone you know might be interested in presenting on any of these cultures, please contact Christin Coughlin-- coughlin@elyriacatholic.com.
