Curley Family Weekly Bulletin

Week of April 22-28, 2024

See below to find out what is happening at Curley!

From the President

It was wonderful to celebrate Cornerstone Day on April 17th, an occasion to honor those who have contributed to what Curley is today, 62 years after that Dedication Day. Let me join in thanking you for what you are contributing today to the Curley Family, to the spirit of this school, and to the Brotherhood which both students and alumni appreciate. Thousands of individuals have been involved in this effort to build the Curley tradition, and so there is great reason to give thanks.

I am sure you have seen news reports on the “Seek the City” pastoral planning of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. No doubt a good number of Curley families are experiencing the emotions of their own home parish being affected. This plan has nothing to do with schools, neither parochial nor archdiocesan high schools. Curley is a site for the meeting on April 25th because there is a large gathering spot to meet, and a large parking lot, not because Curley is being discussed. Go HERE for a FAQ on how schools are not involved in “Seek the City.”

From the Principal

We have hosted a number of special events recently from the Mother-Son Dance to Cornerstone Day. The Choir participated in the Spring Choir Camp and the Curley Bands are heading to Nashville for the annual Band Trip. The Freshman Class traveled to the Museum of the Bible and various student groups have enjoyed some other field trip experiences. In all of these ways, these students are making memories. I want to thank all of the parents who have been involved and supported these programs.

There is much more to come. Upcoming events include the Fresh/Soph Semi-Formal, and the FYM Underclassman Retreat. From there we enter May, which is a very busy month on our school calendar.

I am grateful to you for all you do to help make the Curley experience meaningful.

Archbishop's Holiday April 22, 2024 -- School Closed

Therefore, Monday, April 22, 2024, will be a holiday. There will be no classes that day and the offices will be closed. Athletic events will proceed as scheduled.

From the Assistant Principal of Academics

We are at the midpoint of the 4th quarter for seniors, and one week away from midpoint for underclassmen. The A.P. Exam schedule, the Senior Exam schedule and the Final Exam schedule will be posted over the next two weeks. Please remind your son(s) to check Plus Portals on a regular basis and to see their teacher(s) if they have questions. I also encourage them to see their teachers for extra support and help if they are struggling in any of their courses. The 4th quarter is very short for our seniors, making this even more important. My door is always open if they ever need anything.
