Employee Updates

Job Sharing Program for the 2024-25 School Year


Permanent elementary or secondary teachers are invited to apply for job sharing partnerships for the 2024-25 school year.  


Job share deadlines are as follows:


  • January 19, 2024: Submit a request to have your name, work email and telephone number included on a list of interested job sharing partners by completing the Job Share Interest Request form.


  • March 1, 2024: Submission of applications for new job sharing partnerships or renewal of existing partnerships. Submit applications to Human Resource Services, Attention: Job Share, via district mail or email to jobshare@lbschools.net.

Apply by Jan. 29: LBUSD PASC Program


LBUSD is launching its own Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC) program for credentialed district employees starting in May 2024. Approved by the California Teacher Credentialing Commission, LBUSD’s PASC is designed to support innovative, equity-centered school and central office leaders ready to re-imagine learning in support of Vision 2035.  


Are you a teacher, librarian, nurse, counselor or speech pathologist ready to make LBUSD history and join our first LBUSD PASC cohort? 


Applications are due Monday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m., visit lbschools.net/ELTD for information.

CPR, First Aid Class for Classified Employees


The Personnel Commission is offering free CPR/First Aid certification classes for classified employees on Friday, Feb. 9. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Teacher Resource Center (ABC Room), 1299 East 32nd St., Signal Hill. 


This classified staff development event is subject to manager/supervisor approval for release time, and participants must be permanent classified employees. Priority registration will be given to classified employees working with special needs students.

  • Don’t lose out on free money! If you have either Kaiser or Aetna medical insurance, make sure to get your reward(s) for any of the appropriate wellness actions you’ve taken by the end of this plan year on June 30.
