"It's a way of telling this story of Christ coming into our lives to our ordinary lives," says Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Sarah Hennessey about how the crèche made its way from Greccio, Italy, 800 years ago, to our homes today, in the WXOW News 19 feature, "Celebrating the anniversary of the nativity scene." Father Conrad Targonski tells us of the birth of the crèche in 1223 by St. Francis of Assisi, and Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Meg Earsley shares her favorite Christmas tradition as a little girl: setting up the nativity scene under the tree. "We covered up Baby Jesus until Christmas, because that's when Jesus comes."
