REVISED ACADEMIC SUSPENSION POLICY

smiling-computer-ladies.jpg
  • A student who gets below a 2.0 for consecutive semesters will be suspended for one semester.
  • Students can be readmitted after one term of suspension by meeting with their Education Navigator. During this meeting, the Education Navigator will complete a Success Plan with the student and also schedule two additional follow up meetings throughout the semester.
  • The Suspension Hold will remain on the student's account until the final meeting is completed with the Education Navigator.
  • Students will no longer have to meet with their Department Chair, VP of Student Services, or Dean of SOS to complete a Readmission Form.
  • Students will also receive some automated encouragement through the semester from their Advisor and Dean.

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Have you seen Student Snapshot yet? This new feature in Slate gives you a quick snapshot of an advisee, including alerts, notes, current and upcoming classes. Just click on the Student Snapshot button in Slate or in the Advising Hub do a student search and click on the "View Snapshot" column heading!
  • Have you used the "Advisee Current Grades" query? This query allows you to download all of your students' current grades into a spreadsheet. Click on the "Advisee Current Grades" link, run query and then export to a spreadsheet.
  • Have you seen the UNC System's Advising Tool that lists BDPs for all 17 universities? For more information on BDPs, see the video and guide above.
  • Check out these new videos that tell you how to e-mail your advisees and how to send a quick message to advisees in the Advising Hub.
