LEADERSHIP & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Education Day

This month the Leadership Class learned about Education in Manistee County! On November 16th, we ventured to Onekama Schools to meet with the new superintendent, Dan Mesyar. It was refreshing to hear the vision and the understanding of what the "Better Together" mindset means for the Onekama district.

It's also important to understand the challenges of childcare and how it impacts our workforce in the community. Hannah Rodrigez from the Manistee County Community Foundation presented on the Launch Manistee Network. The class also visited Casman Academy to learn about the alternative options and routes to achieve education!

Our Power Hour speaker, Crystal Young from WSCC presented on Generations in the Workplace. This eye-opening topic was implemented to help shape the perspective on work ethic, communication, and technology. The class received a detailed tour of WSCC where they learned about the robust and dynamic education that is offered right here in our area!

We want to thank all the partners that participated in Education Day!

Thank you to all the 2023/2024 Leadership Program sponsors, including West Shore Community CollegeFiler Credit UnionMunson Healthcare Manistee Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MichiganBob's Roofing Company, and Republic Services.
