Trunk or Treat this Saturday!

Don't forget about this Saturday's annual Trunk or Treat! We'll have Pumpkins for sale in the Patch out front and free candy for trick-or-treaters around back by the playground. Come and enjoy this time of fellowship as children of all ages trick or treat from car to car through the church parking lot. All are welcome to participate in this intergenerational activity, so feel free to dress up in your Halloween finest! We'll go until 6pm--or until all the candy is gone!! It is not too late to drop off candy or to sign up to sponsor a trunk. Contact Gretchen or Tyler.

We are also in the last week of the Pumpkin Patch! A huge thanks to every single person who has volunteered in the past month to help make this year's Patch such a success! It is our big fundraiser of the year to support our children's and youth ministries, but it truly is so much more than just that. It has been a great space to build community among our church family and our neighbors. Thank you for giving of your time and helping to bring about the beloved community Christ calls us to create.

Rejoice in the Lord!

What does it mean to rejoice? To rejoice means to find great joy and delight in something. For me, it's our children's ministry that makes me rejoice in the Lord. I have been a part of our children's ministry team for eight years now. Over those eight wonderful years, I have had the privilege of meeting and teaching some of the greatest kids in this whole world. Some I started with in the nursery, when they were baby babies, and others I have met in recent years. And one of those baby babies that I first started with wrote this year's stewardship letter! Talk about making a whole church rejoice!

Another thing about our church that makes me rejoice is the ability to serve alongside other members of our church family downstairs in the children's connection room. I have gotten to know many of you because of your gracious commitment to volunteer with our children. Your relationship with our kids makes this ministry possible. Thank you for volunteering on Sundays, teaching VBS, playing with our students on church retreats, and making sure we always feel loved and welcomed into the sanctuary. Thank you for your support of this ministry and for ensuring that all of our children have a strong foundation of knowing God's love, just like the foundation you all built for me.

As we head towards Stewardship Sunday, please take some time to prayerfully consider what time, talent, and treasure God is asking you to give as we rejoice in the Lord. May God continue to bless our church family as we rejoice in everything we do, and may God always ensure that our children know they are loved!

All Saints Sunday on November 5

All Saints' Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, November 5 as we remember our brothers and sisters within our congregation and/or immediate family members who have passed away during the previous year.

Youth Group Happenings This Fall

The CHPC Youth Group has really been enjoying our time together on Sunday nights out in the Pumpkin Patch! And we wanted to share a little bit of the fun we have been getting up to with you! This past Sunday we had a spooky paint night, where we painted pumpkins. Check out the church Facebook for more photos!

We truly have an amazing group of young people, and if you would ever like to sign up to volunteer as a youth sponsor, please contact Tyler. Youth Group meets every Sunday night downstairs in the Youth Center from 5-6:30. For more info about our Youth or to support us with food--click below!

Pickup will be back at the Church on Sunday afternoon. The retreat costs $60 per student, which covers food, lodging, and a hoodie. Contact Tyler for more information or to sign up. And please pray for our youth to have a meaningful and enjoyable time on this retreat!

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

Relief Efforts in Israel/Palestine

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

- Matthew 5:9

On Oct. 7, 2023, Israel suffered its deadliest attack in decades. Civilians, including women, children and the elderly, are trapped in a war zone, facing a severe humanitarian crisis. They are enduring unimaginable hardships, and the need for immediate humanitarian relief is paramount. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) joins these voices as we pray for peace and safe passage for those seeking help and fleeing the ongoing chaos. Through PDA, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is providing assistance to those most vulnerable and supporting partners in Palestine and Israel who are responding to the needs of neighbors and strangers in their midst, no matter their religious beliefs, political views or nationality. We are called to care for all of God’s children, especially those in war-torn communities, by responding to the urgent needs of those directly affected by the current conflict.

More can be learned about PDA's important work here by visiting their website. If you feel called to contribute financially, please do so through PDA's giving portal here. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers for peace!
