OLLI Fundraiser to honor the work of our Platinum Facilitators and to celebrate our 28 years (1996-present)
A team of volunteers is hard at work putting together all the pieces for the Back to the Future: Beatles, Bellbottoms and Brews" event to be held on Sunday, May 5, from 3:30-6 pm at Acoya Cherry Creek. Have you bought your tickets yet? You can buy single tickets or packages of 4 or 6 if you want to bring your friends. Click here to buy tickets.
This event will highlight the work of our very strongest and longest serving facilitators who have reached the Platinum designation (40+ courses taught!). Not an easy accomplishment, but one that makes a positive difference in people's lives. We are grateful for the work of all of our facilitators who make this program so meaningful for so many.
Our eight Platinum Facilitators are:
- Charlie Holt
- Bob Magnani
- Mo Mathews
- Larry Matten
- Mac McHugh
- Sydney Myers
- Dick Reinish
- Jerry Wischmeyer

What OLLI Has Meant to Me:
"Education is a lifelong journey. From Kindergarten through Graduate School then statistics, computer programming, business courses, and Law School. When my first wife died from leukemia, I was burnt out as a caregiver and Professor. My reawakening occurred after I married my current wife and was introduced to adult education. OLLI gave me a chance to rediscover my love of teaching and interacting with knowledgeable and interesting people who are also dedicated to lifelong learning. From my first class on Amazing Tales that Fossils Tell to my current class on Movies of the 1980s, I have savored every moment with the students and have continued to learn. Last term, in my Dinosaurs class, the students helped to teach me about bird reproductive anatomy and physiology; and this term I am learning about American Mah Jong. OLLI has been a part of my life for the past 14 years and I look forward to being a part of it for many years to come."
- Larry Matten, Platinum Facilitator, April 2024

A Buddy Comedy for the Ages!
OLLI is off to another excursion to the Cherry Creek Theatre -- our third play -- this time to see “The Heartbeat of the Sun” on Sunday, May 19, at 2 pm.
“Best friends for 50 years, actors Bea and Althea navigated the ups and downs of their lives and careers arm in arm. As the spitfire pair adjusts to senior living, the women reminisce about their lives on and off the boards, and mildly hallucinate on a particularly funky kind of cheese.”
To receive the OLLI member discount, call 303-316-6360 and use the code OLLIGROUP24. Cherry Creek Theatre performs in the intimate Pluss Theatre at the Mizel Center, 350 S. Dahlia Street, Denver.
