Construction Update

March 15, 2024

Upcoming Activities

Most work will take place during nighttime hours to minimize congestion. Please note that while some daytime work will also take place, this shouldn't impact traffic.

  • This week's tasks include placing granular borrow material along eastbound shoulder between I-15 and Canyon Creek Parkway to create safer shoulders for both traffic and workers, especially in areas where curb has been removed.
  • Crews are currently working in approximately 400-foot sections in the project area to help maintain and improve traffic flow.
  • Nightly work Sunday through Thursday nights between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Additionally, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be conducting maintenance work on US-6 near the convergence of US-89, closer to the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. This activity is expected to last approximately two weeks.

Traffic Impacts:

  • All traffic lanes will temporarily shift to the north on US-6.
  • The trail along US-6 is now closed for the duration of the project. Trail users may encounter other temporary closures of sidewalks in the area. Please follow the indicated detours for your safety. Accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be maintained.
  • Business access will remain open.

Enhancements include:

  • Implementing dual left turns at Expressway Lane and Canyon Creek Parkway.
  • Adding a third eastbound lane, extending to the east of Expressway Lane.
  • Installing new asphalt paving from I-15 to the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.
  • Relocating the trail on the south side of US-6.

These improvements are designed to enhance traffic flow, safety, and overall connectivity in the area.

Support Local Business

Supporting local businesses boosts the economy and generates vital tax revenue for local governments, which in turn benefits the community. Committing to shopping locally during construction helps sustain small businesses along the corridor. Access to your favorite businesses will remain.
