February 14, 2024 - Issue 26

Good evening!

Our Elyria Catholic High School community gathered this morning in the James E. Terrell Performing Arts Center to celebrate the Eucharist and the beginning of the season of Lent. We were honored to welcome Bishop Woost as our celebrant. He shared a message that encouraged all of us to be open to the challenges Lent may bring our way, and to use our talents in service to those in our community. Lent is not about giving up something you like for forty days, but more about doing something that would benefit others and in turn strengthen our faith throughout the journey. We were grateful for his uplifting message this morning.

As we begin this Lenten journey, let us challenge ourselves to share that special gift we have all been given and not keep it hidden under a bushel basket. Gifts are meant to be shared and you are all gifts to our community. This Lent, we can make this journey one to remember.

Enjoy the rest of the week, Panthers, and keep the ripple going!

2024 Lorain International Princess Pageant

The annual 2024 Lorain International Princess Pageant is extremely unique in the fact that the applicants "run" in the pageant by representing their ethnic heritage. This gives each individual the opportunity to learn a little more about their ethnic history, and then share that with the community through numerous community service events, volunteering opportunities, and participation in the events that lead up to the annual Lorain International Festival, which will be held June 28-30, 2024.

Each year, the crowned queen and court members are awarded college scholarships for their year-long participation as ambassadors for Lorain County and the Lorain International Festival.

Applications will be available until February 26, 2024 and can be found HERE.
