With more information than ever before, we know you’ll find the
answers to most of your questions on our website.
Dear Parents,

A big thank you goes out to our coaching staff who put a big emphasis on FUN and FRIENDSHIP this week as the Grassroots, Competitive, High Performance and All Abilities players returned to the field. While this game is all about competition we know that the social component of the game is essential to a players long term love of the game. We know this past 18 months has been a hard period of distance and disconnect so building those bonds is an important part of the re-start.

Many of you will have watched in shock last week as Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed from a heart episode during the game against Finland last weekend. These events are very rare and we hope to never deal with something like that at our fields. It may prove critical that we are prepared though and want to point out that a second PFC AED device has been relocated to the Kinsmen Field complex where the majority of our training and games happen. This is in addition to the following ongoing safety elements that we have in place to keep our players, staff and supporters safe.

  • One AED device to the left of the revolving doors in the Soccer Centre lobby
  • All Facility, Administration and Technical Staff are CPR and AED trained (ongoing 2 year renewal)
  • OPDL Head Coaches are CPR/AED qualified as part of OPDL licensing requirements
  • All Grassroots and Competitive teams have a First Aid kit for the 2021 Outdoor season
  • One AED onsite at Kinsmen Field during the entire Outdoor season (returned to the Soccer Centre for the winter).
PFC hopes that in some small way this provide you with comfort that our ongoing care for the safety of our Members is vital to us and that we will do everything in our power to keep you safe. If you have any concerns or would like to know more please contact us at memberservices@pickeringfc.ca and we can best direct your comment. In the meantime we continue to monitor the return of Eriksen to good health and are thankful for the swift response of all those involved on the day.

We are happy to share that we have received Jumpstart Sport Relief funding that has allowed us to offer our programs this summer at NO COST to our families. Our first priority is to get our athletes back on the field and get them moving and socializing with one another (from a distance).

How does Jumpstart raise funds to support organizations like the PFC All Abilities Program across Canada? Through the generosity of shoppers at Canadian Tire, Canadian Tire Gas Bars, Sport Check, National Sport’s, and Mark’s. Have you been asked at the check-out if you would like to make a small donation? It is programs like the PFC All Abilities Programs that benefit from those donations.
Ontario Soccer is hosting its 2021 Match Official Clinics online. There is space available in these clinics and for more information on how to register please CLICK HERE.
